Christie's Custom Jewelry Design
Our signature service at Christie’s is custom jewelry design. This service allows you, with our professional assistance, to design your own jewelry so that you get exactly what you want and need. This is one of the primary advantages that you gain by dealing with an independent jeweler who can provide that personal touch. We take great pride in the reputation that we have established with our many satisfied customers by crafting truly distinctive pieces. We are, after all, “Different by Design!”
Benefits
There are many benefits to having a custom piece of jewelry designed and crafted by Christie's Fine Jewelry. Your custom piece will be of the highest quality and personalized just for you.
When we create jewelry we use many superior methods of manufacturing, including the following;
Scoop Setting
Scoop setting begins with a die-struck mounting of which the seats and prongs are meticulously carved and set by hand by our skilled craftsmen. The result is a gorgeous band that displays mostly diamonds but with the strength and durability of a die-struck and hand set band.
Die-struck
The die-striking process is when the mounting is formed under pressure and compression, resulting in a much higher density and durability with a higher luster to the gold or platinum.
Precision Setting
A very popular method for setting is called “precision setting,” whereby stones of exactly the same size are set at exactly the same height and extremely close in proximity. This provides an exquisite look that approaches perfection.
We pay a great deal of attention to detail in our custom jewelry. We take the time to pre-polish our mountings before stone setting, ensuring that every angle of your piece shines! We match our diamonds to perfection and will match stones to your existing sentimental diamonds as well.

Chotima Vachiravutichai, Jewelry Designer:
Chotima is an upcoming jewelry artist
who’s roots come from her family’s jewelry business back in Thailand. Chotima studied at FIT (Fashion Institute of
Technology) NYC where she improved her metal smithing skills, polished her
design and learned more about the commercial side of the jewelry business.
Chotima works on jewelry in all the forms – from masterful sketching, to 3D modeling and visualization, to wax carving. Growing up in Thailand, a country so connected to the surrounding nature to later living in the modern and growing capital Bangkok, her designs are very inspired by details and shapes found in nature with some twists of modern architecture. Right now Chotima works as a Jewelry Designer at Design Atto, Inc., a young and creative company located in the heart of the Jewelry District in NYC where she improves on all her skills. |
3D Printing:
Design Atto utilizes the latest technologies in 3D Printing to create the highest quality models. Models are first created 3-dimensionally within CAD (Computer Aided Design) software and then sent to the 3D printers, the CAM (Computer Aided Manufacturing). The 3D printers receive digital input from these 3-dimensional files and create a solid model through the additive layer-by-layer process. This process creates a high-precision wax model ready to be cast in metal. Design Atto has both a Solidscape Pro printer and a Solidscape Max2 printer resulting in models of the highest resolution and detail.
